Everyone deserves to feel confident in the field

Meet Ashlynn

Hi! My name is Ashlynn and I have been working in EMS since 2020. I obtained my EMT license in 2019 and started on a truck February/March 2020. This was the height of the pandemic, and let’s just say it was a rollercoaster. Trying to navigate standard protocols along with COVID guidelines that were changing everyday posed a massive challenge for 19 year old me. However, within a month of working I realized I wanted to ditch nursing school and enroll in paramedic school.

I went to Missouri Southern State University Paramedic Program in August of 2020 while continuing to work full-time on a truck. Student life is rough, but temporary. I graduated the program in July 2021 and received my license shortly after. Since then, I have worked in hospital-based, rural, IFT, and suburban EMS.

I graduated from Missouri Southern State University in 2022 with my Bachelor’s degree in Health Science with an Emphasis in EMS education. Following graduation, I started working for MSSU as an EMS adjunct. I still work there today! I am also working towards my Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration and set to graduate in Summer 2026.

My passion for eduation and training started from day 1 as an EMT. The lack of training and mentorship as a brand new provider was incredibly difficult. I had so many questions and no one there to answer them. When I went to paramedic school, I had so many WONDERFUL preceptors and instructors that sparked my love for mentorship. When I was obtaining my degree, I did an internship under my paramedic instructor and adored being with students. Its a fulfilling feeling seeing a student evolve in confidence.

I started social media back in 2021, posting Tik Tok videos giving advice for new paramedics and students. From there, the rest is history. My platform grew, and so did my passion for mentorship. I realized I wanted to do more than just post videos giving advice. And here we are, I started Medicated and Motivated LLC last year when I launched my podcast with the intention one day, I would have a small business guiding students and providers through their journey in EMS.

You may recognize me from TikTok, where it all started! I have been posting on that plaform since 2021!

I started social media with one intent, share real and raw information about being an EMS provider. I wanted to share all the nitty gritty things that I was never told about EMS. Through the years. my social media has graced me with oppurtunities that I would have never been able to have.
